We decided to try Los Arcos again. I had been a few years since we had been there. I had a Chicken Chimi. It was not crisp, just soaked in grease. My husband had stuffed sopappias and they were soaked in grease. Serve was Ok, I had to ask for more water. Nothing either food or atmosphere is worth going to this restaurant.

I will be returning to this Tex-Mex joint if anything but for their margaritas. I was almost saddened by the fact it was only 12 noon when I dined here, because I just wanted to bury my face in one of the very enticing margaritas. Granted, the server seemed to be the only waitress covering a huge, busy restaurant, the service was lacking a tad. With just an hour for lunch, many busy professionals need to option to get in and out in a jiffy. Such was the case with our wonderful lunch group. It's a great place to probably grab dinner and drinks on a leisurely night, but you may run the risk of running late if you pop in here on a busy weekday for lunch. Skimming the menu quickly, I settled with the taco and guacamole tostada is smothered in melted cheese - almost to the point of being unrecognizable. It was tasty, but a girl that has been raised on eating raw peppers, onions, and and very spicy sauces needs her kick when it comes to the Tex-Mex. The table salsa, though fresh with all the right portions of ingredients, it could have been turned up about in heat about 10 notches.

They have a special on Margaritas by the pitcher, but they were watered down, and salty (in the drink, not on the rim). We got half way through the pitcher and decided it wasn't worth finishing (and I rarely waste alcohol). The ceviche was also salty, and amount of lime was way overpowering. The third dish we had was also salty, I guess thats just their thing. Several other choices in the area, so I won't ever be back here. If you want less fancy the Brewery bar is a far better choice, or for a more upscale ambiance and margaritas there is the Rio Grande. Even if both those places had an hour wait I would do that before going back to Los Arcos.

This is my "go-to" place for a consistently good Mexican lunch. The Lone Tree area and much of the Southeast corridor has some good restaurants, but not that many good Mexican restaurants. This luckily fits the bill (and the bill itself is generally under $10 for lunch). I gravitate toward Los Arcos' chicken entrees. They do a great job on chicken and really should expand on that. My mainstay is the chicken flauta served with their guacamole sauce. The emphasis is on the mole in this guac. It is definitely more of a sauce. However if you like rich, chunky guacamole they also serve that with other dishes. I also am a big fan of their salsa. It is robust and chockfull of cilantro. It is spicy without being overly hot. I appreciate the quick service, the piping hot platters, and the cleanliness of the place. The dining room is bright and airy and while I'm not wild about the "artwork," it sure beats some other local Mexican haunts that are dark and dreary.

This is my favorite mexican restaurant. We eat here several times a month. Sometimes they have live music, which can be a little annoying, but also really enhances the experience. The food comes in HUGE portions and the prices are comparitively low. The happy hour margaritas are made very well! AND during happy hour you get a free appetizer! It's different everytime but the first time we got a full order of queso (tex mex is the best) and the next time a full order of nachos. Who can beat that?

Ive never had a bad experience here. The food is great! I love their smothered burrito plates, combo plates and their generous portion of menudo which they serve everyday. If you like draught beer, they have $2, very cold draughts all day long! I will partake with a frosty Dos Equuis Amber with a lime twist whilst waiting for my carryout order or after work with friends for happy hour with free appetizers. Service is awesome and lately, the new bartender. who is very personable and on top of things, makes it awesomer(yes, I know thats not grammatically correct ;-p)! Recently, I went there for lunch with 3 other coworkers, we have a half hour lunch and called our order in before we left, it was ready when we got there and they brought us chips and salsa and drinks. We ate al fresco on their patio and everyone agreed the food and service were on par.

If only there was an option for NO Stars. I don't even want to rate this place because it was that bad. First, it doesn't even taste good and second, it made my partner and I sick. He had the sopapilla beef plate and I had a beef burrito. Later that evening, we both were fighting for the toilet. Come to find out (insider source) that the food is microwaved!!! The vats of food sit in their fridge for as long as a week!!! I wondered why it took them only 5 minutes to get our order out to us. For those who want good Mexican, I mean truly GOOD Mexican, this is not the place to go.

I'm not sure what the Midwestern mooks are talking about in their not so great reviews that I saw. We have eaten here a nuber of times (we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the one in Arvada) and the first thing we noticed is how clean the restaurant is every single time we have been here. The service was great, very quick and friendly. The food has been good every time. The funny thing is this is the only restaunt in Lone Tree and the surrounding area that the food was actualy good and a resonable price. To all the people complaining about there not being many people there when they went. Not every one has the need to go out to be seen go somewhere else or better yet back to the Midwest. This restaurant is the best in the are.

I have had lunch here on a couple of occasions and picked up takeout as well. Overall I have found the green chili to be flavorful, the refried beans fresh and tasty and the salsa to be homemade & delicious! I enjoy the diablo shrimp with its spicy sauce. I know my teens enjoy the huge burrito plates with the copious amounts of cheese and green chili smothering them. In Lone Tree, this is the best option for authentic Mexican fare at a good price! My wife and I have been driving past this place and kept debating on stopping in to try it. Finally gave it a try and we didn't make it to ordering drinks. We smelled what I thought was sewage as soon as we walked in. Once we were sat we looked around and saw nobody else in the restaurant, I don't know if it was due to the horrible smell that got worse once we sat down, but we couldn't even make it 5 minutes. Unfortunately we couldn't even try the food because we had to leave due to the smell. Something like that is a huge turnoff for me knowing that your food is being cooked in a place that smells like a toilet.

My friend and I went here recently after he was raving and craving their "Mexican hamburger" - I asked him if it was like a "hamburguesa" style like I've seen at other Mexican/sandwich places before; all he could tell me was that it was smothered in green chile sauce with cheese and some other things and a hamburger patty in the middle; and it was soamazinglygoodhedidn'twanttotryanythingelse. Well...it seemed like a ringing endorsement. Went in about 3pm on a Sunday. There were a few tables filled there, we didn't have to wait to be seated, and the server came around with drinks for us. So I didn't see any of the poor service that other people seem to have griped about here. I guess the best and kindest thing I can say about this place is they don't seem to be doing anything wrong. The saddest thing I can say about them is they don't seem to be doing much that's outstanding, either -- except you get a pretty good sized portion for what you're paying for. (And the walls are pretty colorful. I snapped some pics to share.) My friend had his smothered hamburger and I finally settled on the sopapilla supreme - billed as "grande sopapilla filled with steak, chicken or combo, peppers, potatoes, and onions smothered in red or green chile and topped melted cheese." Sounds pretty damn mouthwatering, right? I thought so, it won out over another 3 choices I was pondering. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. My friend and I traded bites - his was pretty tasty and savory, my friend loved the deep fried sopapilla part. And then I got to eating. Was it sustaining food? Yeah. There was a lot of it, and I *guess* you could say it was ably cooked -- but was there any marinade or spice used on the steak? Not that I could tell. The cheese was some of the blandest topping I've ever tasted in a Mexican place, and the rest of it -- it...just seemed like someone microwaved some ingredients, threw them into a deep fried sopapilla and covered it in bland molten cheese and weak chile sauce. It was the 1st time I'd dined out at a non-quick food place in 2014; I'd been working out and eating healthier, and I was really looking forward to "sinning" some. Well, the sin here was along the scale of jaywalking, speeding 1-5 over, or busted taillight -- and the fact the chef didn't apparently know how to make an awesome looking dish taste savory. Mine came with a small tub of guac and sour cream that I noticed about 2/3 of the way through my meal, and cursed inwardly -- it might have lifted a '4' or '5' meal up to a '6'. I enjoyed a few bites of it with said toppings...but not reveled in it. Overly long review wrapped up, this place ain't no D'Corazon downtown, or any of the respectable or amazing places along Federal. It reminded me of On The Border - with about 20-30% less flavor, I'm sad to say. I was gonna give this place 3 stars because they did nothing overtly bad, but food taste (just as much as amount, service, quality, etc), is an integral component of any review and the "meh - I've experienced better" is dead on accurate for this place. [I'm entertained that their website seemed to want to drum up some business by advertising Halloween drink specials -- and it's still up, 3 months afterwards...]

I had been here for a lunch a couple times a few years back. I did not have especially good memories, but was more that willing to try the place for lunch again. The place did not seem to have changed much in the last few years. The menu, the decor, the atmosphere, all seemed the same. The main reason I am giving two stars is the below average service our group received the other day. I know we had a couple stragglers, but it should not take that long before you are able to order. Indeed, two of our party wound up having to get their food to go, because there was no other way they could make it back to work on time. The waitress was more than happy to take drink orders, multiple times. I should have insisted on putting in the food order in on one of those visits. We proceeded to watch other groups be seated near us, order food, and in some cases even receive their food before we put our order in. We tried flagging her down, but she kept bumping us to the back of the line. When our food finally did arrive, there was a five minute difference between the first people served, and last people served. The food itself was okay. The chips and salsa were average. The horchata was pretty good. And my entree, the Chicken Mole, was a mixed bag. The largish chicken breast itself was moist, piping hot, and flavorful. Typically this chicken would be shredded, instead of being served is one big chunk, but that was acceptable. The mole sauce on it was rather thin, but had good flavor. The smallish bit of rice on the side was inadequate. It should have been white rice, not pseudo-spanish, and it should have been a lot more. The soupy refried beans on the other side of the plate represented lack of effort and lack of creativity. Why would you serve this with this dish? Because you cannot be bothered to make this dish any differently than the other entrees. There are many other choices for Mexican, even in the suburbs. I suggest you try one of them.

Lunch here today was perhaps the most bland Mexican food I've ever had. Taco meat had some seasoning, but found none in the bean burrito (also lacked much cheese). Rellano was so small I couldn't tell if it had any flavor. Green chili did not help. And who can ruin a sopopilla? Well it too was flavorless-thank heavens for honey! I will not return to this place nor recommend it to anyone. The lack of patrons at 12:45pm should have been a clue.

Los Arcos is super close to the office and their service is pretty fast, so it's a good spot when I want to get out for lunch. I pretty much stick with the same thing: 2 cheese enchilada plate with refried beans. I get it with green chili instead of enchilada sauce. It's always tasty and only $6. Their chips and salsa are pretty good too. And, the midori margarita is very good! I've gotten take-out here once and while it was super fast, the food wasn't as good as eating in. My cheese enchiladas weren't completely melty and it was served in foil so I couldn't just shove it in the microwave to heat up. But, dining in has always been good.

This is a great place to start your weekend! My husband and I love sitting in the bar where you can order happy hour appetizers and/or a full meal. The large screen TVs are a bonus. My new "favorite" meal is the grilled shrimp salad with large sliced tomatoes. It's very healthy and delicious! The service is very prompt and friendly, with immediate attention by the delivery of warm chips and salsa. My husband loves their well made and "honest" frozen Margaritas. There is also a large separate dining room which is ideal for families, large groups and traditional diners.

Worst Mexican food, water salsa soup to start out with your chips. Glass of water had a crack in it which leaked and had to clean it up myself with my own napkin and paper place mat, even after notifying the waiter never received another water and had to ask for more napkins. Food was sub par, tasteless, soggy hard taco, and tostada in my combination plate. When asked if I wanted a to go container I said "no", then he proceeds to ask if I'm done with my plate which was full still, he said "lot of food uh" I say "no it's was gross", he replied "oh sorry" and walks away. 5 of us dined, nobody enjoyed their dish. All along there's a creepy painting of some columbian drug lord with his new jersey wife with huge hair starring at you the entire time, we decided it must be the owners. 80 bucks for crappy food, sheesh never again. No wonder why the place was empty on a Sunday night. Bad service, bad food, bad margaritas, stay away from these scammers.

Los Arcos is our favorite Mexican place in the south metro area Pros- If you go to Los Arcos a few times, you will come to know most of the people that work there. They are all super friendly, and you will often see the owners working just as hard as the wait staff. When we came back after our first visit, we had the same waiter and he remembered our order from the last time. Mind. Blown. I think they provide consistent quality with all of their meals. Drinks from the bar are also consistent and good--and actually contain alcohol. They have the best shredded chicken and beef that I have had in the metro area. The vegetables used in their dishes are always fresh. They have a variety of home made Mexican sauces that have great flavor. My husband especially likes the poblano mole sauce. I believe they make all of their own tortillas and chips. They are really very good. Prices are fair. Cons- The salsa is just kind of meh. It isn't bad, but I have had better. There are lots of good chunks of veggies in it though. The decor is kitschy, but I go to restaurants for the food, not what is on the walls.

This was just awful. Although the service was good, I found the overall presentation and quality of food to be completely lacking. I had 3 chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The sauce was weak and under flavored. The dishes did not contain a sufficient amount of cheese, and the servers got my order wrong. Los Arcos is incredibly forgettable. Last night, we had no food in the house and decided to go out. We ran through all the regular go-to restaurants by our house and dismissed all of them. I logged on Yelp to see if there was something new or a place I was forgetting. Ahhh... riiiight! Los Arcos! It sounded fine. The service was fine. The chips and salsa came out immediately, but the salsa was watery. I ordered their steak fajitas and husband ordered some carnitas tacos. The steak was dry, but still had some flavor. The guacamole had that too-ripe avocado taste... like it was on the verge of going bad. Husband's tacos were soaked in juice. The tortillas were slimy and he couldn't take a bite without about a quarter cup of liquid pouring down his hands and forearms. I really just think their chef doesn't know what they're doing--- everything we got reflected basic cooking mistakes. It was surprising, because the last time I went to Los Arcos (I think it was close to two or three years ago), I remember the food being pretty good. Maybe they got a new chef. My tip to them would be bring the old chef back. The only good thing about the dinner was when the check came. I forgot how reasonably priced they were. However, that being said, I don't think I'll be back to Los Arcos.

Sit in the bar. Ask for Ben. He makes awesome Margs. Tell him, Joe and Shannon sent you. Order a Ber-a-rita. Basically, order a top shelf marg and pay for an extra shot of tequilla. It's always one of the best way I can spend $10. The food is solid and they have good Mexican beers on tap, for $2.25, all day, every day. Big Big fans of Los Arcos! It's our "go to" Mexican place and the location is great! We are always greeted right away and sat right away. We've been here at least a dozen times...for lunch and dinner...small groups and large groups and have always had great, friendly service. Not being a Colorado Native Mexican food was not something I grew up with and I wasn't a huge fan, but, it's my husband's favorite! Thank goodness this is some of the best and tastiest Mexican food I've had since living here! I love their giant Sopapilla with steak and chicken..so delicious and so so filling! But, I can't say no to the Sopapilla sundae! Can you tell I'm a Sopapilla fan? I've been pleased with everything I've had here. When my family from New York came to town I brought them there and everyone left super happy and full! They said they would come here anytime over the "fake overpriced Mexican" at Hacienda. Thursday night Mariachi band is also fun! Outdoor seating is available as well!

Walking into Los Arcos it looks like an authentic Mexican place. It is a nice family run operation. The greeting was friendly and service was also great, but the food was oh so very average. We started with a Queso Fundido which is a small cast iron skillet full of melted cheese, peppers, and onions swimming in grease and served with tortillas. Our entrees of Fish Vera Cruz and the Steak Burrito were sadly uninspired. How do you make a burrito so boring & bland? Even the green chile lacked flavor. Unfortunately, no food item saved the day for us. Even the Margaritas were too tart, small, weak and at $5.25 a terrible value. If you don't want creative, spicy, or flavorful Mexican food than I guess you might be happy here. Sorry guys, but IMO there are many better options in the South Metro.

I'm moving to Denver, and was staying in Lone Tree for the duration of the visit to find a job, place to live, etc. Anyway, I wanted some good Mexican food. I love good food...am I a foodie? Not necessarily...but I actively seek out good food, independent, non-chain places. When I heard this was a local chain (with 3 locations), I was ok with that. So, we ordered 2 chimichangas and queso fundido, all to go. We arrived, and the first thing we noticed was there were many Mexican food-goers eating there...always a good sign. Then the manager/owner? assured us we were going to enjoy the food. Let me tell you something....it was the best, most legit, Mexican food I have ever had. It wasn't the tex/mex style food I was used to. This was, honest to God, incredible, what is probably authentic Mexican food. The Chimis, (we opted for salsa verde on them), were incredible, spicy, and just soooo good...and the queso fundido....omg....this wasn't your queso blanco cheese sauce style fundido. This was real cheese and amazing chorizo....I mean, just looking at it in the container, when we took it out of the bag, we knew it was going to be good. Honestly, this is my first review on a restaurant ever. I've never been compelled to write one....but I was so blown away by how good and legit this Mexican food was (which is my favorite style of food), that I had to write this....I honestly may even swing by and tell the manager/owner that he was right, and his food is amazing. Go here, seriously....if you want authentic food. Amazing.

Disgusting!! I went to this place over the weekend, and go to use the restroom. Come to find out they are having issues and there water is shut off. I ask how the employees are washing their hands...the manager replied " we have a bucket in the back"!! Completly unsanitary and disgusting, what about the water people were drinking, I was to scared to ask where that came from. I told her she should put a sign up letting people know....she replied oh that is a good idea! I will never go there again, and am encouraging others not too! After seeing all the toilets completly clogged, and hearing the employees are using a bucket to wash hands I am sure there is more then one health code violation. Completly disgusted with this place and the management!!! I have told all my family and friends to never go!!!

This is my favorite go-to place for Mexican. Happy hour is until 6! Make sure to ask for the happy hour menu - great starters and margaritas. They do not go cheap on the margarita (most places do). The chips & salsa always come right out and so does the food. Every server we have had has been great.

Formerly a steak house (Black Angus, if I recall properly), this is a satellite location for the flagship in Westminster. Diners enter a foyer where there is installed a hostess stand. The place is brightly painted with Mexican-inspired color blocks. I couldn't help but notice the odd doily-like colored squares hanging like flags around the perimeter of the foyer. The dining room is kitschy, decorated with ceramic-look-alike papier mache parrots, scepters purporting to be of Aztec or South American origin and gaudy vinyl booths. Fake potted- and hanging-plants abound. The only thing missing is a matador scene or Jesus portrait on black velvet! There's even a large television (seeming out of place) hanging against the ceiling on one wall. If you don't like booths, there are tables with mission-style clunky chairs. They pour Coke products. Chips (blandish) and salsa (inconsistent) are served gratis. The food is OK, like mediocre, but not awesome. But, for the southern suburbs, this is probably as Mexican as it gets. I can't rave about it, but I confess that I eat there often enough to have a fair amount of experience with their menu. I like menudo, and Los Arcos does a pretty good job with it. Their burritos are typical, nothing to, well, rave about. I have had ceviche, which I confess will be my last foray there; I'm certain it was made from frozen white fish. Not very good at all. The fajitas are pretty good. The mole is not unappealing nor is it very interesting. Service is generally pretty good. I have never had a bad experience or an unnecessary wait.

Horrible. Don't bother. If you like salt, this is your place. The atmosphere is a collision of different styles and the portrait is odd. Study the fingers. Overlooking all of that (which is easy to do), the food is terrible, awful and could not finish (a first for a Mexican restaurant). I cannot remember a worse dining experience in the past five years. If you value your money, time and palate, skip this place. Echoing what others have stated, I wish I could give this a zero. I wonder how people give this place the ratings I see. The only thing saving this place is the service. The service was great. I wish the food lived up to their efforts.

My wife and I love Mexican food, and this is one of our favorite spots in Metro South! I normally get the Chimichanga, which comes in an enormous portion and smothered to perfection. My wife loves the chicken fajitas and we normally end with a tasty sopapilla. The wait staff is very friendly and the prices are the cheapest around. We leave happy and satisfied every time!

Despite the not so good reviews, I just had to try this place because it's just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my work. I really hoped it would be good, because I LOVE Mexican food, and there isn't a good place to get it near work. Unfortunately, this place just didn't cut it. Yes, the lunch specials are cheap, but the food is just below mediocre. The chile con queso "dip" was not a dip at all, but a queso fundido with roasted chiles. Very disappointed in that. If i wanted fundido I would've ordered it, (SINCE IT'S ON THE MENU). I had a combo plate with a chile relleno, bean burrito, and a taco. I asked for the extra hot green chile, which actually was pretty spicy. That was probably the best thing about the meal. Burrito was meh, chile relleno barely okay, and the taco....*sigh*....oh, the taco. First problem: they laid it down on top of the green chile, so by the time it got to me one side was completely soggy. So much so, that I had to use a fork to eat it. Second problem: the ground beef had chopped up onions in it...gross. The only saving grace of this place would probably be their Happy Hour drink specials. $2 draft beers are really hard to argue with. That being said, I might go back for some drinks...but definitely NOT the food.

I have eaten at all the Mexican restaurants in the area, and I chose Los Arcos for consistently good food at a reasonable price. The service is always friendly and prompt. Initially greeting you in Spanish, they quickly provide your drinks whether tea or margaritas. The food is Mexican...what can I say. I think that everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to Mexican. As you can tell from the reviews, you either like the taste or you don't. I happen to like it! This is our "go to" restaurant when we want something reasonably priced, quick service, then back home. Give it a try. I think you will like it!

We went here last Saturday for lunch as my parents were in town. Not much in the way of Mexican food down south so this is refreshing. Food is typical Mexican fair, nothing that stands out but nothing to complain about either. Mixed drinks are done well. Service was good. Bill for 4 people was very reasonable.

Yep, the picture is freaky deaky. I don't remember if it's the guy's fingers or the lady's fingers that freak me out with their length, but one of them has really long fingers in the portrait. I feel bad for poor Erin, who bragged endlessly (not really, cause she stopped bragging about it while we were there) about how great and quick the service here is. It was not great nor quick. (I ordered the same item as the guy next to me, mine came with two warmed, flour tortillas, his with none until he asked, then he was given one after I'd already given him one of mine) It was pretty damned slow - like two drinks before getting food slow. The food was merely ok. The horchata was pretty watered down. I got the chicken mole with rice and beans. I'm pretty sure the breasts were genetically modified to be huge, and normally I like my breasts like that, but not in this case. The mole was ok. Rice and beans were ok. Given the lack of Mexican options in the burbs, I suppose a jonesing person wanting to avoid mystery meat at taco bell could be persuaded to come here. Me...I'll go someplace where I feel the food is a bit more authentic and a bit more love put into it.

If you're looking for a better, more authentic and far less bland Mexican restaurant, you might go west down County Line a ways to Los Dos Portrillos. Much better food, less loud, and much more sane prices. That said, the Guacamole is excellent.

My boyfriend and I have been here several times before but this time was the first that I tried one of their frozen margaritas. Not only was it a lot bigger than I expected it was also absolutely delicious. But be careful because even after one I was feeling the alcohol, they definitely do not skimp out on the tequila. The service was incredibly fast. Right after we sat down we were greeted by our waitress and received chips and salsa. Even after we ordered we got our food within 10 minutes, which really impressed me. The waitress was also very chipper and she made me feel at home. For two meals, two margaritas and a dessert we spent $30, an awesome deal..and the food will satisfy any hankering for mexican cuisine.

First off, let me tell you I am completely aware of issues that have arisen, I have even been in the company of others when botched orders (red chili instead of green) and the like have occured...in fact, I recommend dining for two or just hang at the bar, it's hit or miss if you bring a large group, but you will get more attention from the staff in one. For a quick lunch break, and to let off a little steam, show up here and park it at the bar for $2 drafts...the XX Amber is sooo good and my drink was cold down to the last drop, even after sitting around for about 15 minutes. I like their salsa, and considering the terrible options in the area for Mexican, in fact, compare it to just about everywhere else in the area and it's top dog. BTW, if you dine in the main room and notice a HUGE husband/wife portrait, yes it's the boss, I like to refer to him as "The Don". I can't help but find that hubris extremely...humorous!

Because I am a Salazar doesn't make me an authority on Mexican food however I do like fantastic Mexican food. South Denver suburbs are weak for good food in general and even weaker in the Mexican food department. I mean Chipotle and Qdoba are plentiful but its a sad excuse for a good comida mexicana. I think the premier Mexican restaurant in terms of food in all of Denver is Benny's on 7th and Grant downtown but I was pleasantly surprised to have stumbled onto Los Arcos of Lone Tree. These guys cook some mean Mexican food. Its almost as good as Benny's and that is saying something. My barometer, as should everybodies, of a fine Mexican restaurant is their enchiladas. If they can make a good plate of Enchiladas then I know I am in good hands. The atmosphere is really nice and authentic as Lone Tree gets. I found myself wondering where they got their chairs, chandeliers, tables, and glasses so I could furnish my own casa. The service has always been really competent. Nothing detracts from their service yet nothing stands out either. Its a wash. Prices are around 10 a person without the Modelo. Not bad not bad. Basically what I am trying to say is if you want to get your grub on Mexican style this is the best in south Denver.

Will my 3 stars get me whacked?! Go for the authentic mexican food but stay for the mafia ambiance. The portrait of the owner - or as Jeremiah Z appropriately put it, the 'Don' - and his wife in the main dining room had me mesmerized. But when I wasn't fixated on the painting, I was enjoying the Steak Tampiquena. Skip the seasoned butter they add to it. That almost ruined the meal altogether. The staff was insanely attentive and I always appreciate the Spanglish - especially in Colorado (makes me feel exotic). The Margarita was sub-par, but to be fair, how can you compete with the Rio (no chance). I'll give it another chance and I would definitely suggest you give it your own taste.

I ordered their famous chile verde and it wasn't good at all. The meat (pork) was good but the sauce was this creamy peach thing - totally NOT chile verde! The chile verde I've had at other places is really GREEN and water-y - kind of like salsa verde. Service was FAST and it's super affordable. I believe that I just ordered the wrong thing from their menu. I'm going to try it again and maybe my opinion will change BUT I won't order the chile verde, YIKES!

We are natives of Denver and lived grew up north of town. We eventually moved down south and were so excited when Los Arcos came to Lone Tree. The best chicken chimichanga in town, hands down. Love that it's locally owned and family run.

I guess the same people who rave about this place are the same people who think Taco Bell is "Mexican" food. Oh, Los Arcos...you have let me down. I don't want to lead fellow yelpers astray, so I feel it necessary to update them on my dinner with you tonight. I ordered the sopapilla supreme, my husband ordered the shredded beef burrito plate. I really want to tell you that something we ate was good, but every aspect was disappointing. Wanna hear it?....Here it goes... 1. Lumpy, way-too-thick green chile that I'll bet had no green chile involved in it's creation. 2. Steak pieces looked and tasted boiled - no flavor. 3. Peppers and onions were mushy. 4. Portion was really small - strangely - because usually they are huge. 5. The tomatoes were pink, unripe and awful. 6. The guacamole tasted watered down and didn't taste like anything resembling avocado. 7. The sour cream was runny, watery and thin. 8. Everything was EXTREMELY over-salty - especially the shredded beef. I'll hope that this was a flukey kinda night, but I'm not sure if I want to try again based on our food tonight -

Food is fair., Chips were good however we could not find anyone to refill our bowl. Salsa is not special. We inquired about the queso and were told that it was Velveeta, really. I don't even buy Velveeta at home, why the hell would I buy it at a restaurant and pay 5 bucks for it? My wife had the enchiladas, they were average, did not have much of a taste, very bland. She was 5 months pregnant and hate the whole thing and was about to break the plate and eat that as well before I stopped her. I had the tacos, meat was not seasoned, everything was bland with not much taste. Not good. TV's were cool though!

In my opinion, this is not a good restaurant. It just shows how desperate people in Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch are for a unique restaurant, because a restaurant this poor should not be crowded. We eat out a lot as a family and I never recall a time when all 5 of us remarked about how little we liked a restaurant. The food was unspectacular, the wait service was terrible, and to top it off, the place smelled awful. I'm not even going to write what my kids said about it. Avoid!

Stellar service! We arrived with a party of 13 and were seated on the patio almost immediately with waters and menus. Rob our waiter was on top of it from the beginning. Carnita's were the special and I lucked out and got the last one. I understand the popularity - they were awesome! Salsa was good as well. We will go back again when on that side of town.

We decided to try Los Arcos again. I had been a few years since we had been there. I had a Chicken Chimi. It was not crisp, just soaked in grease. My husband had stuffed sopappias and they were soaked in grease. Serve was Ok, I had to ask for more water. Nothing either food or atmosphere is worth going to this restaurant.

I will be returning to this Tex-Mex joint if anything but for their margaritas. I was almost saddened by the fact it was only 12 noon when I dined here, because I just wanted to bury my face in one of the very enticing margaritas. Granted, the server seemed to be the only waitress covering a huge, busy restaurant, the service was lacking a tad. With just an hour for lunch, many busy professionals need to option to get in and out in a jiffy. Such was the case with our wonderful lunch group. It's a great place to probably grab dinner and drinks on a leisurely night, but you may run the risk of running late if you pop in here on a busy weekday for lunch. Skimming the menu quickly, I settled with the taco and guacamole tostada is smothered in melted cheese - almost to the point of being unrecognizable. It was tasty, but a girl that has been raised on eating raw peppers, onions, and and very spicy sauces needs her kick when it comes to the Tex-Mex. The table salsa, though fresh with all the right portions of ingredients, it could have been turned up about in heat about 10 notches.

They have a special on Margaritas by the pitcher, but they were watered down, and salty (in the drink, not on the rim). We got half way through the pitcher and decided it wasn't worth finishing (and I rarely waste alcohol). The ceviche was also salty, and amount of lime was way overpowering. The third dish we had was also salty, I guess thats just their thing. Several other choices in the area, so I won't ever be back here. If you want less fancy the Brewery bar is a far better choice, or for a more upscale ambiance and margaritas there is the Rio Grande. Even if both those places had an hour wait I would do that before going back to Los Arcos.

This is my "go-to" place for a consistently good Mexican lunch. The Lone Tree area and much of the Southeast corridor has some good restaurants, but not that many good Mexican restaurants. This luckily fits the bill (and the bill itself is generally under $10 for lunch). I gravitate toward Los Arcos' chicken entrees. They do a great job on chicken and really should expand on that. My mainstay is the chicken flauta served with their guacamole sauce. The emphasis is on the mole in this guac. It is definitely more of a sauce. However if you like rich, chunky guacamole they also serve that with other dishes. I also am a big fan of their salsa. It is robust and chockfull of cilantro. It is spicy without being overly hot. I appreciate the quick service, the piping hot platters, and the cleanliness of the place. The dining room is bright and airy and while I'm not wild about the "artwork," it sure beats some other local Mexican haunts that are dark and dreary.

This is my favorite mexican restaurant. We eat here several times a month. Sometimes they have live music, which can be a little annoying, but also really enhances the experience. The food comes in HUGE portions and the prices are comparitively low. The happy hour margaritas are made very well! AND during happy hour you get a free appetizer! It's different everytime but the first time we got a full order of queso (tex mex is the best) and the next time a full order of nachos. Who can beat that?

Ive never had a bad experience here. The food is great! I love their smothered burrito plates, combo plates and their generous portion of menudo which they serve everyday. If you like draught beer, they have $2, very cold draughts all day long! I will partake with a frosty Dos Equuis Amber with a lime twist whilst waiting for my carryout order or after work with friends for happy hour with free appetizers. Service is awesome and lately, the new bartender. who is very personable and on top of things, makes it awesomer(yes, I know thats not grammatically correct ;-p)! Recently, I went there for lunch with 3 other coworkers, we have a half hour lunch and called our order in before we left, it was ready when we got there and they brought us chips and salsa and drinks. We ate al fresco on their patio and everyone agreed the food and service were on par.

The vats of food sit in their fridge for as long as a week!!! I wondered why it took them only 5 minutes to get our order out to us. I'm not sure what the Midwestern mooks are talking about in their not so great reviews that I saw. We have eaten here a nuber of times (we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the one in Arvada) and the first thing we noticed is how clean the restaurant is every single time we have been here. The service was great, very quick and friendly. The food has been good every time. The funny thing is this is the only restaunt in Lone Tree and the surrounding area that the food was actualy good and a resonable price. To all the people complaining about there not being many people there when they went. Not every one has the need to go out to be seen go somewhere else or better yet back to the Midwest. This restaurant is the best in the are.

I have had lunch here on a couple of occasions and picked up takeout as well. Overall I have found the green chili to be flavorful, the refried beans fresh and tasty and the salsa to be homemade & delicious! I enjoy the diablo shrimp with its spicy sauce. I know my teens enjoy the huge burrito plates with the copious amounts of cheese and green chili smothering them. In Lone Tree, this is the best option for authentic Mexican fare at a good price! My wife and I have been driving past this place and kept debating on stopping in to try it. Finally gave it a try and we didn't make it to ordering drinks. We smelled what I thought was sewage as soon as we walked in. Once we were sat we looked around and saw nobody else in the restaurant, I don't know if it was due to the horrible smell that got worse once we sat down, but we couldn't even make it 5 minutes. Unfortunately we couldn't even try the food because we had to leave due to the smell. Something like that is a huge turnoff for me knowing that your food is being cooked in a place that smells like a toilet.

My friend and I went here recently after he was raving and craving their "Mexican hamburger" - I asked him if it was like a "hamburguesa" style like I've seen at other Mexican/sandwich places before; all he could tell me was that it was smothered in green chile sauce with cheese and some other things and a hamburger patty in the middle; and it was soamazinglygoodhedidn'twanttotryanythingelse. Well...it seemed like a ringing endorsement. Went in about 3pm on a Sunday. There were a few tables filled there, we didn't have to wait to be seated, and the server came around with drinks for us. So I didn't see any of the poor service that other people seem to have griped about here. I guess the best and kindest thing I can say about this place is they don't seem to be doing anything wrong. The saddest thing I can say about them is they don't seem to be doing much that's outstanding, either -- except you get a pretty good sized portion for what you're paying for. (And the walls are pretty colorful. I snapped some pics to share.) My friend had his smothered hamburger and I finally settled on the sopapilla supreme - billed as "grande sopapilla filled with steak, chicken or combo, peppers, potatoes, and onions smothered in red or green chile and topped melted cheese." Sounds pretty damn mouthwatering, right? I thought so, it won out over another 3 choices I was pondering. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. My friend and I traded bites - his was pretty tasty and savory, my friend loved the deep fried sopapilla part. And then I got to eating. Was it sustaining food? Yeah. There was a lot of it, and I *guess* you could say it was ably cooked -- but was there any marinade or spice used on the steak? Not that I could tell. The cheese was some of the blandest topping I've ever tasted in a Mexican place, and the rest of it -- it...just seemed like someone microwaved some ingredients, threw them into a deep fried sopapilla and covered it in bland molten cheese and weak chile sauce. It was the 1st time I'd dined out at a non-quick food place in 2014; I'd been working out and eating healthier, and I was really looking forward to "sinning" some. Well, the sin here was along the scale of jaywalking, speeding 1-5 over, or busted taillight -- and the fact the chef didn't apparently know how to make an awesome looking dish taste savory. Mine came with a small tub of guac and sour cream that I noticed about 2/3 of the way through my meal, and cursed inwardly -- it might have lifted a '4' or '5' meal up to a '6'. I enjoyed a few bites of it with said toppings...but not reveled in it. Overly long review wrapped up, this place ain't no D'Corazon downtown, or any of the respectable or amazing places along Federal. It reminded me of On The Border - with about 20-30% less flavor, I'm sad to say. I was gonna give this place 3 stars because they did nothing overtly bad, but food taste (just as much as amount, service, quality, etc), is an integral component of any review and the "meh - I've experienced better" is dead on accurate for this place. [I'm entertained that their website seemed to want to drum up some business by advertising Halloween drink specials -- and it's still up, 3 months afterwards...]

I personally love this place... Goodies good, drinks are stiff, and the atmosphere is roomy and comfy. Try the fajitas yummy! Also the menudo is delicious. The staff is always really friendly so I haven't complaints.

I had been here for a lunch a couple times a few years back. I did not have especially good memories, but was more that willing to try the place for lunch again. The place did not seem to have changed much in the last few years. The menu, the decor, the atmosphere, all seemed the same. The main reason I am giving two stars is the below average service our group received the other day. I know we had a couple stragglers, but it should not take that long before you are able to order. Indeed, two of our party wound up having to get their food to go, because there was no other way they could make it back to work on time. The waitress was more than happy to take drink orders, multiple times. I should have insisted on putting in the food order in on one of those visits. We proceeded to watch other groups be seated near us, order food, and in some cases even receive their food before we put our order in. We tried flagging her down, but she kept bumping us to the back of the line. When our food finally did arrive, there was a five minute difference between the first people served, and last people served. The food itself was okay. The chips and salsa were average. The horchata was pretty good. And my entree, the Chicken Mole, was a mixed bag. The largish chicken breast itself was moist, piping hot, and flavorful. Typically this chicken would be shredded, instead of being served is one big chunk, but that was acceptable. The mole sauce on it was rather thin, but had good flavor. The smallish bit of rice on the side was inadequate. It should have been white rice, not pseudo-spanish, and it should have been a lot more. The soupy refried beans on the other side of the plate represented lack of effort and lack of creativity. Why would you serve this with this dish? Because you cannot be bothered to make this dish any differently than the other entrees. There are many other choices for Mexican, even in the suburbs. I suggest you try one of them.

Lunch here today was perhaps the most bland Mexican food I've ever had. Taco meat had some seasoning, but found none in the bean burrito (also lacked much cheese). Rellano was so small I couldn't tell if it had any flavor. Green chili did not help. And who can ruin a sopopilla? Well it too was flavorless-thank heavens for honey! I will not return to this place nor recommend it to anyone. The lack of patrons at 12:45pm should have been a clue.

Los Arcos is super close to the office and their service is pretty fast, so it's a good spot when I want to get out for lunch. I pretty much stick with the same thing: 2 cheese enchilada plate with refried beans. I get it with green chili instead of enchilada sauce. It's always tasty and only $6. Their chips and salsa are pretty good too. And, the midori margarita is very good! I've gotten take-out here once and while it was super fast, the food wasn't as good as eating in. My cheese enchiladas weren't completely melty and it was served in foil so I couldn't just shove it in the microwave to heat up. But, dining in has always been good.

Their green chili sauce is defiantly worth a try! Service is always hit or miss, the last time it was great but before that we spoke to the manager because service was so slow. Also, never had potatoes in Mexican food which i thought was odd. We go for the burritos and green chili!

Worst. Service. Ever. The host took 10 minutes to even show up. He didn't even greet us, he just awkwardly nodded our presence and we had to initiate being seated.... It was not a welcoming experience at all. The service was so damn slow, took 15m to even order. Decent food, not worth the wait.

This is a great place to start your weekend! My husband and I love sitting in the bar where you can order happy hour appetizers and/or a full meal. The large screen TVs are a bonus. My new "favorite" meal is the grilled shrimp salad with large sliced tomatoes. It's very healthy and delicious! The service is very prompt and friendly, with immediate attention by the delivery of warm chips and salsa. My husband loves their well made and "honest" frozen Margaritas. There is also a large separate dining room which is ideal for families, large groups and traditional diners.

We go to this place about once a week - always order the same thing since we want to stay on the healthy side. We always have the chicken fajitas which we share - and there is plenty for the 2 of us. Worst Mexican food, water salsa soup to start out with your chips. Glass of water had a crack in it which leaked and had to clean it up myself with my own napkin and paper place mat, even after notifying the waiter never received another water and had to ask for more napkins. Food was sub par, tasteless, soggy hard taco, and tostada in my combination plate. When asked if I wanted a to go container I said "no", then he proceeds to ask if I'm done with my plate which was full still, he said "lot of food uh" I say "no it's was gross", he replied "oh sorry" and walks away. 5 of us dined, nobody enjoyed their dish. All along there's a creepy painting of some columbian drug lord with his new jersey wife with huge hair starring at you the entire time, we decided it must be the owners. 80 bucks for crappy food, sheesh never again. No wonder why the place was empty on a Sunday night. Bad service, bad food, bad margaritas, stay away from these scammers.

Los Arcos is our favorite Mexican place in the south metro area Pros- If you go to Los Arcos a few times, you will come to know most of the people that work there. They are all super friendly, and you will often see the owners working just as hard as the wait staff. When we came back after our first visit, we had the same waiter and he remembered our order from the last time. Mind. Blown. I think they provide consistent quality with all of their meals. Drinks from the bar are also consistent and good--and actually contain alcohol. They have the best shredded chicken and beef that I have had in the metro area. The vegetables used in their dishes are always fresh. They have a variety of home made Mexican sauces that have great flavor. My husband especially likes the poblano mole sauce. I believe they make all of their own tortillas and chips. They are really very good. Prices are fair. Cons- The salsa is just kind of meh. It isn't bad, but I have had better. There are lots of good chunks of veggies in it though. The decor is kitschy, but I go to restaurants for the food, not what is on the walls.

Nice place. It is pretty cheap but good quality. I got the enchilada meal. Great meal. I got two enchiladas, beans, and rice. Give you complimentary salsa. Everyone in our family liked it. Overall nice place.

Great authentic Mex. Server was quick, the food was even faster. For a cheap and tasty lunch, you can't go wrong. Portions are larger than life, I would recommend just ordering a burrito for a couple of bucks and staying away from the combos.

This was just awful. Although the service was good, I found the overall presentation and quality of food to be completely lacking. I had 3 chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The sauce was weak and under flavored. The dishes did not contain a sufficient amount of cheese, and the servers got my order wrong. If you want some cheap eats I can sincerely say I'd pick taco bell over this.

Los Arcos is incredibly forgettable. Last night, we had no food in the house and decided to go out. We ran through all the regular go-to restaurants by our house and dismissed all of them. I logged on Yelp to see if there was something new or a place I was forgetting. Ahhh... riiiight! Los Arcos! It sounded fine. The service was fine. The chips and salsa came out immediately, but the salsa was watery. I ordered their steak fajitas and husband ordered some carnitas tacos. The steak was dry, but still had some flavor. The guacamole had that too-ripe avocado taste... like it was on the verge of going bad. Husband's tacos were soaked in juice. The tortillas were slimy and he couldn't take a bite without about a quarter cup of liquid pouring down his hands and forearms. I really just think their chef doesn't know what they're doing--- everything we got reflected basic cooking mistakes. It was surprising, because the last time I went to Los Arcos (I think it was close to two or three years ago), I remember the food being pretty good. Maybe they got a new chef. My tip to them would be bring the old chef back. The only good thing about the dinner was when the check came. I forgot how reasonably priced they were. However, that being said, I don't think I'll be back to Los Arcos.

Sit in the bar. Ask for Ben. He makes awesome Margs. Tell him, Joe and Shannon sent you. Order a Ber-a-rita. Basically, order a top shelf marg and pay for an extra shot of tequilla. It's always one of the best way I can spend $10. The food is solid and they have good Mexican beers on tap, for $2.25, all day, every day. Service is typical for a Mexican restaurant and most are friendly. See you there!

Big Big fans of Los Arcos! It's our "go to" Mexican place and the location is great! We are always greeted right away and sat right away. We've been here at least a dozen times...for lunch and dinner...small groups and large groups and have always had great, friendly service. Not being a Colorado Native Mexican food was not something I grew up with and I wasn't a huge fan, but, it's my husband's favorite! Thank goodness this is some of the best and tastiest Mexican food I've had since living here! I love their giant Sopapilla with steak and chicken..so delicious and so so filling! But, I can't say no to the Sopapilla sundae! Can you tell I'm a Sopapilla fan? I've been pleased with everything I've had here. When my family from New York came to town I brought them there and everyone left super happy and full! They said they would come here anytime over the "fake overpriced Mexican" at Hacienda. Thursday night Mariachi band is also fun! Outdoor seating is available as well!

Walking into Los Arcos it looks like an authentic Mexican place. It is a nice family run operation. The greeting was friendly and service was also great, but the food was oh so very average. We started with a Queso Fundido which is a small cast iron skillet full of melted cheese, peppers, and onions swimming in grease and served with tortillas. Our entrees of Fish Vera Cruz and the Steak Burrito were sadly uninspired. How do you make a burrito so boring & bland? Even the green chile lacked flavor. Unfortunately, no food item saved the day for us. Even the Margaritas were too tart, small, weak and at $5.25 a terrible value. If you don't want creative, spicy, or flavorful Mexican food than I guess you might be happy here. Sorry guys, but IMO there are many better options in the South Metro.

I'm moving to Denver, and was staying in Lone Tree for the duration of the visit to find a job, place to live, etc. Anyway, I wanted some good Mexican food. I love good food...am I a foodie? Not necessarily...but I actively seek out good food, independent, non-chain places. When I heard this was a local chain (with 3 locations), I was ok with that. So, we ordered 2 chimichangas and queso fundido, all to go. We arrived, and the first thing we noticed was there were many Mexican food-goers eating there...always a good sign. Then the manager/owner? assured us we were going to enjoy the food. Let me tell you something....it was the best, most legit, Mexican food I have ever had. It wasn't the tex/mex style food I was used to. This was, honest to God, incredible, what is probably authentic Mexican food. The Chimis, (we opted for salsa verde on them), were incredible, spicy, and just soooo good...and the queso fundido....omg....this wasn't your queso blanco cheese sauce style fundido. This was real cheese and amazing chorizo....I mean, just looking at it in the container, when we took it out of the bag, we knew it was going to be good. Honestly, this is my first review on a restaurant ever. I've never been compelled to write one....but I was so blown away by how good and legit this Mexican food was (which is my favorite style of food), that I had to write this....I honestly may even swing by and tell the manager/owner that he was right, and his food is amazing. Go here, seriously....if you want authentic food. Amazing.

Disgusting!! I went to this place over the weekend, and go to use the restroom. Come to find out they are having issues and there water is shut off. I ask how the employees are washing their hands...the manager replied " we have a bucket in the back"!! Completly unsanitary and disgusting, what about the water people were drinking, I was to scared to ask where that came from. I told her she should put a sign up letting people know....she replied oh that is a good idea! I will never go there again, and am encouraging others not too! After seeing all the toilets completly clogged, and hearing the employees are using a bucket to wash hands I am sure there is more then one health code violation. Completly disgusted with this place and the management!!! I have told all my family and friends to never go!!!

This is my favorite go-to place for Mexican. Happy hour is until 6! Make sure to ask for the happy hour menu - great starters and margaritas. They do not go cheap on the margarita (most places do). The chips & salsa always come right out and so does the food. Every server we have had has been great.

Formerly a steak house (Black Angus, if I recall properly), this is a satellite location for the flagship in Westminster. Diners enter a foyer where there is installed a hostess stand. The place is brightly painted with Mexican-inspired color blocks. I couldn't help but notice the odd doily-like colored squares hanging like flags around the perimeter of the foyer. The dining room is kitschy, decorated with ceramic-look-alike papier mache parrots, scepters purporting to be of Aztec or South American origin and gaudy vinyl booths. Fake potted- and hanging-plants abound. The only thing missing is a matador scene or Jesus portrait on black velvet! There's even a large television (seeming out of place) hanging against the ceiling on one wall. If you don't like booths, there are tables with mission-style clunky chairs. They pour Coke products. Chips (blandish) and salsa (inconsistent) are served gratis. The food is OK, like mediocre, but not awesome. But, for the southern suburbs, this is probably as Mexican as it gets. I can't rave about it, but I confess that I eat there often enough to have a fair amount of experience with their menu. I like menudo, and Los Arcos does a pretty good job with it. Their burritos are typical, nothing to, well, rave about. I have had ceviche, which I confess will be my last foray there; I'm certain it was made from frozen white fish. Not very good at all. The fajitas are pretty good. The mole is not unappealing nor is it very interesting. Service is generally pretty good. I have never had a bad experience or an unnecessary wait.

Horrible. Don't bother. If you like salt, this is your place. The atmosphere is a collision of different styles and the portrait is odd. Study the fingers. Overlooking all of that (which is easy to do), the food is terrible, awful and could not finish (a first for a Mexican restaurant). I cannot remember a worse dining experience in the past five years. If you value your money, time and palate, skip this place. Echoing what others have stated, I wish I could give this a zero. I wonder how people give this place the ratings I see. The only thing saving this place is the service. The service was great. I wish the food lived up to their efforts.

My wife and I love Mexican food, and this is one of our favorite spots in Metro South! I normally get the Chimichanga, which comes in an enormous portion and smothered to perfection. My wife loves the chicken fajitas and we normally end with a tasty sopapilla. The wait staff is very friendly and the prices are the cheapest around. We leave happy and satisfied every time!

Despite the not so good reviews, I just had to try this place because it's just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my work. I really hoped it would be good, because I LOVE Mexican food, and there isn't a good place to get it near work. Unfortunately, this place just didn't cut it. Yes, the lunch specials are cheap, but the food is just below mediocre. The chile con queso "dip" was not a dip at all, but a queso fundido with roasted chiles. Very disappointed in that. If i wanted fundido I would've ordered it, (SINCE IT'S ON THE MENU). I had a combo plate with a chile relleno, bean burrito, and a taco. I asked for the extra hot green chile, which actually was pretty spicy. That was probably the best thing about the meal. Burrito was meh, chile relleno barely okay, and the taco....*sigh*....oh, the taco. First problem: they laid it down on top of the green chile, so by the time it got to me one side was completely soggy. So much so, that I had to use a fork to eat it. Second problem: the ground beef had chopped up onions in it...gross. The only saving grace of this place would probably be their Happy Hour drink specials. $2 draft beers are really hard to argue with. That being said, I might go back for some drinks...but definitely NOT the food.

I have eaten at all the Mexican restaurants in the area, and I chose Los Arcos for consistently good food at a reasonable price. The service is always friendly and prompt. Initially greeting you in Spanish, they quickly provide your drinks whether tea or margaritas. The food is Mexican...what can I say. I think that everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to Mexican. As you can tell from the reviews, you either like the taste or you don't. I happen to like it! This is our "go to" restaurant when we want something reasonably priced, quick service, then back home. Give it a try. I think you will like it!

We went here last Saturday for lunch as my parents were in town. Not much in the way of Mexican food down south so this is refreshing. Food is typical Mexican fair, nothing that stands out but nothing to complain about either. Mixed drinks are done well. Service was good. Bill for 4 people was very reasonable.

Yep, the picture is freaky deaky. I don't remember if it's the guy's fingers or the lady's fingers that freak me out with their length, but one of them has really long fingers in the portrait. I feel bad for poor Erin, who bragged endlessly (not really, cause she stopped bragging about it while we were there) about how great and quick the service here is. It was not great nor quick. (I ordered the same item as the guy next to me, mine came with two warmed, flour tortillas, his with none until he asked, then he was given one after I'd already given him one of mine) It was pretty damned slow - like two drinks before getting food slow. The food was merely ok. The horchata was pretty watered down. I got the chicken mole with rice and beans. I'm pretty sure the breasts were genetically modified to be huge, and normally I like my breasts like that, but not in this case. The mole was ok. Rice and beans were ok. Given the lack of Mexican options in the burbs, I suppose a jonesing person wanting to avoid mystery meat at taco bell could be persuaded to come here. Me...I'll go someplace where I feel the food is a bit more authentic and a bit more love put into it.

If you're looking for a better, more authentic and far less bland Mexican restaurant, you might go west down County Line a ways to Los Dos Portrillos. Much better food, less loud, and much more sane prices. That said, the Guacamole is excellent.

My boyfriend and I have been here several times before but this time was the first that I tried one of their frozen margaritas. Not only was it a lot bigger than I expected it was also absolutely delicious. But be careful because even after one I was feeling the alcohol, they definitely do not skimp out on the tequila. The service was incredibly fast. Right after we sat down we were greeted by our waitress and received chips and salsa. Even after we ordered we got our food within 10 minutes, which really impressed me. The waitress was also very chipper and she made me feel at home. For two meals, two margaritas and a dessert we spent $30, an awesome deal..and the food will satisfy any hankering for mexican cuisine.

First off, let me tell you I am completely aware of issues that have arisen, I have even been in the company of others when botched orders (red chili instead of green) and the like have occured...in fact, I recommend dining for two or just hang at the bar, it's hit or miss if you bring a large group, but you will get more attention from the staff in one. For a quick lunch break, and to let off a little steam, show up here and park it at the bar for $2 drafts...the XX Amber is sooo good and my drink was cold down to the last drop, even after sitting around for about 15 minutes. I like their salsa, and considering the terrible options in the area for Mexican, in fact, compare it to just about everywhere else in the area and it's top dog. BTW, if you dine in the main room and notice a HUGE husband/wife portrait, yes it's the boss, I like to refer to him as "The Don". I can't help but find that hubris extremely...humorous!

Because I am a Salazar doesn't make me an authority on Mexican food however I do like fantastic Mexican food. South Denver suburbs are weak for good food in general and even weaker in the Mexican food department. I mean Chipotle and Qdoba are plentiful but its a sad excuse for a good comida mexicana. I think the premier Mexican restaurant in terms of food in all of Denver is Benny's on 7th and Grant downtown but I was pleasantly surprised to have stumbled onto Los Arcos of Lone Tree. These guys cook some mean Mexican food. Its almost as good as Benny's and that is saying something. My barometer, as should everybodies, of a fine Mexican restaurant is their enchiladas. If they can make a good plate of Enchiladas then I know I am in good hands. The atmosphere is really nice and authentic as Lone Tree gets. I found myself wondering where they got their chairs, chandeliers, tables, and glasses so I could furnish my own casa. The service has always been really competent. Nothing detracts from their service yet nothing stands out either. Its a wash. Prices are around 10 a person without the Modelo. Not bad not bad. Basically what I am trying to say is if you want to get your grub on Mexican style this is the best in south Denver.

Will my 3 stars get me whacked?! Go for the authentic mexican food but stay for the mafia ambiance. The portrait of the owner - or as Jeremiah Z appropriately put it, the 'Don' - and his wife in the main dining room had me mesmerized. But when I wasn't fixated on the painting, I was enjoying the Steak Tampiquena. Skip the seasoned butter they add to it. That almost ruined the meal altogether. The staff was insanely attentive and I always appreciate the Spanglish - especially in Colorado (makes me feel exotic). The Margarita was sub-par, but to be fair, how can you compete with the Rio (no chance). I'll give it another chance and I would definitely suggest you give it your own taste.

I ordered their famous chile verde and it wasn't good at all. The meat (pork) was good but the sauce was this creamy peach thing - totally NOT chile verde! The chile verde I've had at other places is really GREEN and water-y - kind of like salsa verde. Service was FAST and it's super affordable. I believe that I just ordered the wrong thing from their menu. I'm going to try it again and maybe my opinion will change BUT I won't order the chile verde, YIKES!

We are natives of Denver and lived grew up north of town. We eventually moved down south and were so excited when Los Arcos came to Lone Tree. The best chicken chimichanga in town, hands down. Love that it's locally owned and family run.

I guess the same people who rave about this place are the same people who think Taco Bell is "Mexican" food. Oh, Los Arcos...you have let me down. I don't want to lead fellow yelpers astray, so I feel it necessary to update them on my dinner with you tonight. I ordered the sopapilla supreme, my husband ordered the shredded beef burrito plate. I really want to tell you that something we ate was good, but every aspect was disappointing. Wanna hear it?....Here it goes... 1. Lumpy, way-too-thick green chile that I'll bet had no green chile involved in it's creation. 2. Steak pieces looked and tasted boiled - no flavor. 3. Peppers and onions were mushy. 4. Portion was really small - strangely - because usually they are huge. 5. The tomatoes were pink, unripe and awful. 6. The guacamole tasted watered down and didn't taste like anything resembling avocado. 7. The sour cream was runny, watery and thin. 8. Everything was EXTREMELY over-salty - especially the shredded beef. I'll hope that this was a flukey kinda night, but I'm not sure if I want to try again based on our food tonight -

Food is fair., Chips were good however we could not find anyone to refill our bowl. Salsa is not special. We inquired about the queso and were told that it was Velveeta, really. I don't even buy Velveeta at home, why the hell would I buy it at a restaurant and pay 5 bucks for it? My wife had the enchiladas, they were average, did not have much of a taste, very bland. She was 5 months pregnant and hate the whole thing and was about to break the plate and eat that as well before I stopped her. I had the tacos, meat was not seasoned, everything was bland with not much taste. Not good. TV's were cool though!

We've only been for Happy Hour, so that's all I can rate but its a pretty decent one, especially here in Lone Tree where the options are lacking. Good drink specials, they keep the chips and salsa coming AND give you a free appetizer. Service is good and fast. Will definitely be going back.

In my opinion, this is not a good restaurant. It just shows how desperate people in Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch are for a unique restaurant, because a restaurant this poor should not be crowded. We eat out a lot as a family and I never recall a time when all 5 of us remarked about how little we liked a restaurant. The food was unspectacular, the wait service was terrible, and to top it off, the place smelled awful. I'm not even going to write what my kids said about it. Avoid!

This really is an excellent restaurant and my personal favorite. It is clean, has lightening fast food to table time and good, inexpensive, quality food. Their chicken enchiladas are less than $3.00 and are all white chicken! They really cannot be any better and I am confused with any mediocre ratings. You won't regret going.
